Dr Gianluca Boso completed his PhD in Information Technology (2013) at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) on the development of gated single-photon detectors for high-speed applications in automotive, biomedical and quantum physics fields. He is now a hardware scientist at IDQ and a senior researcher at the University of Geneva working on high-throughput quantum key distribution systems and development of single-photon detectors.
