Dr. Helmut Griesser received the Dipl.Ing. degree in electrical engineering in 1996, and the Dr.Ing. degree with a thesis on coding theory in 2002, both from the University of Ulm. Currently he serves as a Director in the Advanced Technology group at ADVA in Munich, Germany. He contributed and still contributes to various national and European research projects, including the sub-project lead of 100GET. His main scientific and technical focus is on signal processing for optical fibre transmission as well as classic and quantum-safe security for fibre communication systems.
