Konrad Banaszek
University of Warsaw
Prof Konrad Banaszek is the director of the Centre for Quantum Optical Technologies hosted by the Centre of New Technologies, University of Warsaw, Poland. After receiving in 2000 a PhD degree in physics from the University of Warsaw, he held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Rochester, USA, and the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. In 2001 he received the European Physical Society Fresnel Prize in fundamental aspects for his outstanding contributions to understanding of non-classical light and its application in quantum information processing, especially advancing understanding of highly correlated bi-photon pairs of highly correlated photons such as those produced by down-converters. Served as an Associate Editor of Optics Express and a reviewer for a number of journals, including Nature Photonics, Optica, Optics Letters, IEEE J. Sel. Areas Commun, and IEEE Commun.
